A modular 38-component laboratory kit that lets school students assemble circuits and investigate electricity and magnetism, supplied with a 70-hour digital course in an LMS and a built-in AI assistant.

Description

This student laboratory kit for studying electricity, model LABOTRIX ELECTRO E4, is a set of modular equipment for laboratory and practical work in electricity and magnetism. It lets students assemble electrical circuits themselves, measure the characteristics of those circuits and investigate electromagnetic phenomena, and it is designed for teaching under the secondary school programme in science-oriented classes and in the laboratories of educational institutions. Learners work with the kit under the supervision of a physics teacher or a laboratory assistant; the recommended age is from 10 years, that is grade 5 and older classes.

The kit is built from modular elements developed for easy construction and modification of circuits, and every component carries convenient clamps and connectors for quick assembly. It contains 38 components. The main current source is rated 12 V, 2 A, and the kit is powered from an external 12 V source or from batteries depending on the configuration. Operating conditions are the premises of an educational institution at an air temperature from +5 to +40 °C and relative humidity from 40 to 60 % without condensate. The service life is 5 years and the warranty period is 12 months. The marking and operating documentation are in Ukrainian, and the product is marked with the trade mark, the model and a space for the inventory number. The kit is supplied assembled by modules and requires no additional set-up, its surfaces may be wiped with a dry or slightly damp cloth, and it is packed in an individual corrugated cardboard box with fixed compartments for the modules. A methodological guide for performing laboratory work is part of the delivery.

The set includes a panel for assembling electrical circuits; a main current source 12 V, 2 A; current source modules, 1.2 V — 2 pcs; lamps 2.5 V 0.3 A — 2 pcs, lamps 6.2 V 0.5 A — 2 pcs and lamps 12 V 0.1 A — 2 pcs; lamp modules 12 V — 4 pcs; resistors of 100 Ohm, 220 Ohm, 470 Ohm, 1 kOhm, 4.7 kOhm and 10 kOhm — 2 pcs of each rating; modular capacitors of 1000 µF, 100 µF and 470 µF; a diode module; a push-button switch module; a toggle switch module; a module for connecting an ammeter or a voltmeter; a voltmeter with 0-15 V and 0-1.5 V scales; a galvanometer; an NTC thermistor; a rheostat; connecting wires — red 25 cm 2 pcs, red 50 cm, black 25 cm 2 pcs and black 50 cm; clamps — 10 pcs; straight conductors — 6 pcs; angled conductors — 4 pcs; angled conductors with a terminal — 2 pcs; T-shaped conductors — 2 pcs; a bar magnet; an electromagnet; a demountable electromagnet; a coil; a demountable laboratory model of an electric motor; a storage box; the methodological guide for laboratory work; the right of access to the online course with the assistant (licence); the passport with the warranty card; and individual transport packaging.

Supplied with the kit is a right of access to an online teaching support course hosted in a learning management system and designed for 70 academic hours of classes, compiled in line with the current curricula of Ukrainian general secondary schools. The materials are grouped into research modules in physics, biology, chemistry and STEM, and each topic contains a lesson plan, a list of the equipment required, a scenario for conducting the experiment, a step-by-step instruction for the laboratory work with an explanation of the expected result, a video demonstration of working techniques, and interactive exercises and tasks for independent study, suitable for both individual and group work. All modules are compiled for this same equipment and verified on it, so the course runs along a direct chain from the equipment through the methodology to the learning results.

The kit includes an AI assistant built into the learning management system on retrieval-augmented generation. It selects research tasks and experiments matching the topic of the lesson, describes the procedure of the experiment step by step, identifies typical student errors and gives personalised recommendations for correcting them, adapts task difficulty to different levels of student preparation, supports students in compiling reports on research results and in structuring the conclusions drawn from experiments, and works on a localised knowledge base aligned with the national curriculum of Ukraine. The licence for the course and the software is valid for 12 months; content, interface and learning materials are in Ukrainian. For this kit the assistant draws on the topics of electricity and magnetism that the modular components of the set are built to demonstrate.

The maximum voltage in the kit is 12 V, which counts as low-voltage equipment, but the current source is switched off before any change is made to a circuit and bare conductors are not touched while a circuit is closed and powered. Before the supply is switched on, the connection of all components and the absence of a short circuit are checked, and the terminals of the source are never closed directly without a resistor in the circuit. Capacitors are discharged through a resistor when a circuit is dismantled, a lamp is not connected to a voltage exceeding its rating, and the rheostat is not held at its lowest resistance while current flows. Store the kit in a dry closed room at a temperature from +5 to +40 °C without condensate, with the components sorted by type in the storage box and the wires coiled and secured, protected from direct sunlight, vibration, mechanical shocks and aggressive substances.
