Description
The LABOTRIX Sense Chem L6 digital chemistry laboratory is a student set for classroom experiments, practical lessons and research projects in chemistry. With it students measure the acidity of a solution, its specific electrical conductivity, the parallel course of temperature in two vessels, the change of gas pressure in a sealed vessel and the degree of colouration (light absorption) of a solution. The set is sized for one student workplace, individually or in a small group at a single laboratory bench, while a demonstration experiment for the whole class is run by the teacher from a separate teacher set. It is used when studying acid-base properties of substances, electrolytic dissociation, thermal effects of reactions and colorimetric analysis of solutions, and it combines hardware, multimedia content and elements of generative artificial intelligence, which keeps lessons inclusive and engaging for students of different levels of preparation.
The set contains six wireless instruments of five types. Two temperature sensors work from -50 °C to +200 °C with a resolution of 0.01 °C; the water quality (pH) sensor covers 0–14 pH with a resolution of 0.01 pH; the conductivity sensor covers 0–20,000 μS/cm with a resolution of 1 μS/cm; the gas pressure sensor with a syringe covers 0–700 kPa with a resolution of 0.1 kPa; and the colorimeter sensor covers 0–100% with a resolution of 0.01%. Each sensor carries a colour liquid crystal display with a 1.8 inch diagonal and shows the measurement result on its own body at the moment it is taken. The sensors are powered by a built-in rechargeable battery and work autonomously, without a datalogger or an external analogue-to-digital converter; several sensors transmit their readings simultaneously to a computer or a mobile device over a Bluetooth wireless connection, and a wired USB connection is supported as well. The supplied software is compatible with the operating system used in the school (Windows, macOS), displays data as tables and graphs and exports the results to spreadsheet editors; its interface is Ukrainian by default, and English is available as an option. The charger supplied with the set charges four sensors at a time.
The set includes a wireless temperature sensor — 2 pcs, a wireless water quality (pH) sensor, a wireless conductivity sensor, a wireless gas pressure sensor with a syringe, a wireless colorimeter sensor with a set of light filters (red, green, blue), plastic cuvettes for the colorimeter — 3 pcs, a box with a moulded insert for the sensors, an access licence to the online course with the language model assistant, an operating manual with methodological materials for the teacher and for the student, the software supplied as a download link, a charger that charges four sensors at once, a USB cable for connection to a computer, a passport with a warranty card and individual transport packaging. Reagents and laboratory glassware for the experiments are not part of the set and are provided by the chemistry classroom, and the software is installed before the first use.
The product comes with access to an online teaching support course hosted in a learning management system and designed for 70 academic hours, written for the current curricula of general secondary education in Ukraine. The materials are grouped into research modules in physics, biology, chemistry and STEM, and every topic contains a lesson plan, a list of the equipment needed, an experiment scenario, a step-by-step laboratory instruction with an explanation of the expected result, a video demonstration of the working techniques, interactive exercises and assignments for independent study and for project work, suitable both for individual and for group work. All modules are built around this same equipment and tested on it, so the course follows a direct chain from the piece of equipment to the teaching method and to the learning results.
The kit includes an AI assistant built into the learning management system on retrieval-augmented generation. It selects research tasks and experiments matching the topic of the lesson, describes the procedure of the experiment step by step, identifies typical student errors and gives personalised recommendations for correcting them, adapts task difficulty to different levels of student preparation, supports students in compiling reports on research results and in structuring the conclusions drawn from experiments, and works on a localised knowledge base aligned with the national curriculum of Ukraine. The licence for the course and the software is valid for 12 months; content, interface and learning materials are in Ukrainian. In this laboratory the sensors send their measurement results to the platform automatically, so the student does not copy readings from the screen or type numbers by hand, and the assistant works with that data: it builds graphs and tables, processes the results, shows the patterns that appeared during the experiment, compares the measurements with the reference values for that laboratory work and leads the student towards formulating a hypothesis, a conclusion and an interpretation, keeping the search within a defined corridor of knowledge rather than handing over a ready answer.
Work with reagents is prepared by the teacher or the laboratory assistant, and students work under supervision; the product is intended for learners aged 10 and older, that is grade 5 and above. The pH sensor is calibrated with buffer solutions (pH 4, 7, 10) before regular use and weekly, the sensors are rinsed with distilled water and wiped with a soft lint-free cloth after each experiment, the colorimeter cuvette is washed with clean water and dried, and the optical window of the colorimeter is cleaned only with an optics wipe. Washing the sensors in a dishwasher or under a strong jet of water, immersing them in concentrated acids, alkalis or organic solvents without protection, disassembling them and leaving switched-on sensors unattended during a chemical reaction are prohibited. The set is stored in a dry closed room at +5 °C to +40 °C and relative humidity below 80% without condensation, away from dust, direct sunlight and vibration. Service life is 5 years and the warranty period is 12 months from the date of sale.
