Description

The LABOTRIX ROBOKIT R1 is a multifunctional hardware and software kit of programmable electronic modules for the practical study of electronics, embedded programming, process automation and work with peripheral devices in secondary schools. Working with the kit, students assemble simple electronic circuits by hand, write and upload learning programs for them, and watch the microcontroller board read the signals of the connected modules, process them and drive the connected elements, reproducing the logic of an automated technological process on a classroom scale. The kit is meant for practical lessons in the basics of electronics, programming clubs, project work in STEM laboratories and out-of-class technical creativity, and it supports laboratory works and research projects of different levels of complexity.

The core of the kit is a programmable microcontroller board that supports common development environments and carries digital and analogue input and output ports for the external modules of the set. The board runs autonomously from a rechargeable battery or from a computer USB port at 5 V while programming, and it exchanges data with a computer over a wired USB connection, while a wireless channel lets the controller exchange data with a mobile phone, tablet or computer over a short distance. Modules are joined without soldering, through a breadboard, unified connectors and jumper wires, so an assembled circuit is easy to take apart and rebuild an unlimited number of times without damaging the components. Programming is done in a visual block environment or in high-level text code. Environment sensors read air temperature, air and soil humidity, air composition and the ultraviolet level; motion and orientation sensors cover acceleration through an accelerometer, tilt angle, vibration of the structure, obstacle detection and line following; special sensors register magnetic fields, impact or touch on the structure, and open flame. Drive elements are a precision positioning servo with a rotation angle of 180°, power servos with a rotation angle of 180° and a holding torque of 2 kg·cm, and DC motors with control units for a 6 V supply, while relay modules switch external loads on and off on command from the program. Visual output uses a digital and a character display, single LEDs, an indicator with controlled colour and an LED matrix, and a buzzer gives audible signalling; commands are entered through buttons, a potentiometer, a joystick and an infrared remote control. Structural parts of plastic and metal fasten the modules into a single device, and the battery with its charger holds enough capacity for the controller with connected peripherals to run through a whole lesson without recharging and without a link to the computer. Operating documentation is in Ukrainian, the operating range is +5 to +40 °C at 40 to 60 % relative humidity without condensation, the service life is 5 years and the warranty period is 12 months.

The set includes structural parts for assembling a complete device — beams, frames, axles, gears, panels and fasteners — as one set; a breadboard; a set of connecting wires; a rechargeable battery with a charger and a cell holder; a USB cable for connection to a computer; a microcontroller board supporting an open programming environment; a wireless data module linking the controller with a mobile phone, tablet or computer over a short distance; a real-time clock module; a spectral ultraviolet sensor module; combined air temperature and humidity sensor modules — 2 pcs; a light level sensor module; a soil moisture sensor; an air temperature measuring module; a photoresistor module; a vapour sensor module; an analogue air composition sensor, that is a gas analyser; infrared motion detection modules — 2 pcs; a vibration measuring module; three-axis accelerometer modules for tracking orientation and movement in space — 2 pcs; tilt sensors with a built-in LED indicator in module form — 2 pcs; a ball tilt sensor and a module based on it — 1 pc each; an ultrasonic distance meter; an optical gate module working on beam interruption; a line following module; an obstacle avoidance module; an open flame detection module; reed and Hall magnetic field sensors in module form — 1 pc each; a module registering impact or touch on the structure; joystick modules — 2 pcs; an infrared remote control together with its receiver module; separate push-button switches — 4 pcs, and a push-button switch module; separate infrared transmitter and receiver modules — 1 pc each; a potentiometer module; DC motors with control units for a 6 V supply — 2 pcs; power servos with a rotation angle of 180° and a holding torque of 2 kg·cm — 2 pcs; relay modules for switching external loads — 2 pcs; a precision positioning servo with a rotation angle of 180°; seven-segment indicator modules of one and of four digits — 1 pc each; single LEDs in four colours, red, green, yellow and blue, 5 pcs of each; an active buzzer and a passive buzzer — 1 pc each; an 8 × 8 LED matrix panel; LED modules of three kinds, white, colour-controlled and three-colour traffic light, 1 pc of each kind; a character liquid-crystal display 2 × 16; the right of access to the online course with the language-model assistant, as a licence; the operating instructions and teaching materials in printed or electronic form, one set, containing a detailed description of 30 laboratory works and 5 complex research projects aligned with the current curricula; the passport with the warranty card; and individual transport packaging. The exact list and quantity of the electronic modules are given in the manufacturer’s packing list, and the teacher decides how the components are laid out for a lesson.

The product is supplied with the right of access to an online course hosted in a learning management system and designed for 70 academic hours, compiled to the current curricula of Ukrainian secondary schools. Its materials are grouped into research modules in physics, biology, chemistry, STEM and robotics, and each topic carries a lesson plan, a list of the equipment needed, a scenario for running the experiment, a step-by-step laboratory instruction explaining the expected result, a video demonstration of working techniques, and interactive exercises and tasks for independent study suited to both individual and group work. All modules were compiled for this same equipment and tested on it, so the course runs on a direct chain from equipment through method to learning outcomes.

The kit includes an AI assistant built into the learning management system on retrieval-augmented generation. It selects research tasks and experiments matching the topic of the lesson, describes the procedure of the experiment step by step, identifies typical student errors and gives personalised recommendations for correcting them, adapts task difficulty to different levels of student preparation, supports students in compiling reports on research results and in structuring the conclusions drawn from experiments, and works on a localised knowledge base aligned with the national curriculum of Ukraine. The licence for the course and the software is valid for 12 months; content, interface and learning materials are in Ukrainian. Access is opened through an account issued by the school, and the licence term is counted from the date the access is handed over.

Work with the kit is organised and supervised by a teacher or a laboratory assistant, on a clean horizontal table free of moisture and foreign objects; the recommended age is from 10 years, that is grade 5 and above. The structural elements and modules are supplied assembled, and before the first lesson the programming environment is installed on the computer and the base firmware is loaded onto the board. Both power options, the rechargeable battery and the 5 V computer USB port, are safe extra-low voltage and carry no risk of electric shock in normal use, but the board is disconnected from USB power before modules are joined or separated, and circuits are assembled and taken apart with the cable unplugged. Metal objects are never inserted into the sockets of the board and the modules, the gold-plated contacts are not touched with wet hands, and the modules are neither washed nor immersed in liquid. Module housings are wiped with a dry soft cloth and oxidised contacts are cleaned gently with a contact eraser; connecting wires, connectors and housings are checked for damage after intensive use, and if a foreign smell appears the work is stopped and the USB cable disconnected. The kit is stored and transported in its original packaging or a hard case at +5 to +40 °C and 80 % relative humidity without condensation, protected from dust, moisture and aggressive substances. Complex faults, such as damage to the board or a failed module, are handled by an authorised service centre.
