The “Electrical Apparatus” stand offers an overview of various electrical devices and their applications. It enables users to understand the construction, operation, and maintenance of common electrical apparatus.
Structurally, the stand “Electrical devices” consists of:
- A case containing part of the electrical equipment and electronic boards.
- A perforated front panel.
- A table top of an integrated work table.
The front panel of the stand shows:
- Electrical diagrams of power sources with measuring devices.
- Switch in sockets.
- A digital instrument panel.
- A stopwatch indicator.
- Switching equipment.
- A knob for adjusting the output voltage of the LATR.
- A holder for installing fusible fuse inserts, with a magnifying lens fixed above it.
The lens serves for the convenience of detailed observation of the process of thread burning by melting the insert.
Removable modules are placed on the perforated mounting panel:
- Module with relay- contactor equipment: magnetic starter typeKMI-110,~ 220 V; magnetic starter type KMI-210, ~ 220 V; intermediate relays type HJQ-22, ~ 220 V.
- Module with protection equipment: electronic time relay PR-617; thermal relay TRN-10, 1A; automatic circuit breaker VA, 1A; RT-40 maximum current relay.
- Module with electronic devices: thyristor voltageregulator with control sockets of control signals and switching sockets of the power circuit; solidstaterelay.
In the case of the stand there is installed:
- power supply unit +5 V (current 1 A);
- a stop watch board with a measurement range of 0.01 – 99.99 s;
- board of a digital measuring device with a current relay;
- step-down transformer OSM1-0.1 220/42 V;
- resistor PEVR-50 22 Ohm ;
- autotransformer (LATR) 0.4kW;
- rectifier of adjustable LATR voltage;
- power transformer OSM1-0.1.
The control bodies include:
- the switch of the laboratory LATR ;
- a potentiometer for adjusting the RCD leakage current;
- digital measuring device operation mode switches;
- stopwatch reset button.
To carry out laboratory work, it is necessary to assemble the electrical circuit of the research object using jumpers.
Attached to the stand:
- The student testing program for admission to laboratory work.
- In the testing process, both theoretical knowledge and knowledge of the content of the performed laboratory work are checked.
- As a result of testing, the student receives a knowledge assessment.
- A set of methodical and technical documentation intended for the teaching staff.

- Object of the study: Low-voltage fuse inserts of types VP2.
- Students get acquainted with the design and technical data of low-voltage fuses.
- It is necessary to remove the time-current characteristic by melting the insert and compare it with the calculated one, as well as study the influence of the metallurgical effect.
- Study of direct and alternating current contactors
- Object of research: Contact switching devices.
- Students get acquainted with the technical data, design, and operation of contactors and magnetic starters.
- Study of electronic current relay
- Object of research: Design and principle of operation of an electronic current relay.
- The methods of adjusting the current relay to the specified current setting and time duration, the influence of the current value on the relay activation time are mastered.
- Study of the circuit breaker
- Research object: Low-voltage single-pole automatic switch.
- The device, construction, and principle of operation of automatic switches used in power supply systems and electric drives are studied.
- Study of thermal relay
- Students learn about the design, function, and application of thermal relays in various electrical systems.
